Do I need a heater for my aquarium in Kathmandu?
Tropical fish such as bettas, guppies, tetras and angelfish do best at 24 to 28°C, so a heater is recommended from late autumn to early spring. Goldfish tolerate cooler water.
How often should I feed my fish?
Feed once or twice a day, only as much as they finish in two minutes. Overfeeding is the most common cause of cloudy water.
Is tap water safe for fish?
Tap and tanker water often contains chlorine. Treat it with a water conditioner before adding it to the tank.
